To make a long story short, these days the MPAA and the RIAA look at everyone as criminals. They believe that everyone is out to get them. That is why they have implemented some horrible copy protection to try and protect them. Just ask Sony/BMG about that. Rootkits anyone? The worst part is that the people who want to steal movies and music will do so anyway because they are smart enough to get around the copy protection. Copy protection only hurts the normal, honest person who actually pays for this stuff. All copy protection does is turn all those normal, honest people into hackers just so they can use what they bought. Basically, it is just one big messy circle.
