Internet Archive: Windows 95 Launch

It was the biggest ever launch of a software product with stores opening at midnight and buyers around the world waiting to get their hands on... an operating system! It was Windows 95. This show looks at the hoopla surrounding the launch of Windows 95, the product itself, and several Windows 95 add-on products including Microsoft Office, Viking RAM Chips, Uninstaller, Trispectives Professional, and The Hive. Originally broadcast in 1995.

TechTV Reunion? - LOL: The Life of Leo

A TechTV reunion show of some sort? Is it possible, maybe. Would it air on TV, I don't think so. It wouldn't surprise me if G4 did anything they could to keep it from happening. I could be wrong.

I don't want to be a tease, but there's some interest in putting together a TechTV reunion show for the net. Many of the TechTV hosts have said they'd participate, including Kate Botello. Kris Kosach, Chris Pirillo, and Jim Louderback. Martin Sargent has offered to host it. I know we could get all the TWiTs involved.

Fake Google Website Hides Trojan Horse

Scammers have set up an exact copy of the download page for Google
s Toolbar plug-in in an attempt to lure users to download a Trojan back door. Some versions of the scam even spoof the correct Google Toolbar Web address for Internet Explorer, using Googles own redirection service in an attempt to hide the real, non-Google address.

The Cruzin Cooler

As heard on the Daily Giz Wiz which is part of the TWIT network........It's the Cruzin Cooler!!

Cruzin Cooler combines two basic necessities of life, the ability to have cold food or a beverage handy along with the means to get somewhere, without walking. With modern technology, the Cruzin Cooler is light-weight and comes in various sizes and is available in gas and electric models, with a 10 mile range on electric models and 30 miles on the gas models. The cooler is light enough to be driven to a location and then picked up and carried. The cooler can be used for hunting, sporting events, races, camping, golf or even a trip to the grocery store to keep your food cold all the way home. Marine use will be popular for the new cooler allowing you to take your fish/drinks/food/ ice to and from your boat with powered assistance and braking. Simply ride or power your way up and down ramps.

Can you hear ultrasonics ringtones?

Students find ring tone adults can't hear

Find out just how far your ears can hear into the range of ultrasonic ringtones. Pretty much everyone should be able to hear the lowest tone (8kHz). Many people should be able to hear up to around 14.1kHz, from around 17kHz upwards we get into the range that only the under 20's can hear!

Yeah!!! I'm just slightly above average.

You are in your twenties
You can still hear reasonably well and you can play this without my old fart colleagues hearing it which makes you feel kinda good.

The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 15.8kHz
